Award Winners

NUCS Awards

The Award for Musical Excellence is awarded each semester to a student who has exhibited consistent excellence in vocal quality, sight-reading or music learning, posture and attentiveness, phrasing and articulation, sensitivity to the ensemble, attention to the conductor, and attendance.

The Award for Organizational Leadership is awarded each semester to a student who has spent a great deal of time and effort working for the Society, demonstrated accomplishments, shown initiative, exhibited leadership characteristics, and shown a good record of attendance at all N.U.C.S. rehearsals and functions.

Voice Lesson Subsidy Award

Each semester one student is chosen to receive financial subsidies to enable him/her to pursue private vocal study. The student receives an award of $250.00 to be used towards subsidizing the student's taking voice lessons. The award is given to a student who has exhibited excellence or significant improvement in vocal quality, sight-reading or music learning, posture and attentiveness, phrasing and articulation, sensitivity to the ensemble, attention to the conductor, dedication, and attendance.
